I had a great experience orking with Jake - Brazil Construction.

He took care of my entire front yard running his entire crew professionally and on time. I had my driveway in Colored Concrete and Connecticut Blue Stone, Porch with Connecticut Blue and big Colored Concrete Steps with La Paz Stones as a divider along the house and going up to the street.

He is personable, efficient, direct, great communicator, good listener and a fantastic problem solver.

I would like to focus my review on some specific things that I think could help some people that may have a similar situation as mine.

We needed to redo our entire driveway because of damage from a large tree and there was no way around it. I got a few bids from other companies (one of them a very large and reputable company) and Jake came in very competitively on his bid. In fact, he not only beat the large company out by a good amount, but he also added in a lot of little things that I felt the larger company was nickel and diming me for (running a sleeve for future landscape/electrical, going w/ a brand name stone, etc...). I was impressed by his earnest and honest bid, so that was a huge determining factor.

The next thing that made me start to put my trust in Brazil Construction was that when I asked if he would be on the job site doing a lot of the work, he said he would be there to oversee and do much of the job. The first day on the job, I witnessed Jake throwing a sledge hammer down while they waited on the Bobcat to show up. Right before I left for work that day, I saw him taking an axe by hand to chop the large tree root (5"- 6" in diameter) that got pulled up during the driveway excavation, in order to cut it up so the green waste folks could pick it up curb side (I'm sure he'll be carrying a chain saw from now on...just in case). I knew right then and there that he is firmly involved in all his jobs and whatever I communicated to him would not be lost throughout the process. Seems like there's some guys at other companies that do the sales number on you but you can tell they won't be there on the job site talking to the crew about all the concerns you may have voiced during the design and planning process.

Lastly, the thing that sealed the deal w/ me to choose Brazil Construction was that Jake understood exactly where I was on budget and while I wanted to do the adjacent steps/porch, it just wasn't in the budget at this time. He took a lot of care and understanding to help figure out a good way to match the design and shape so that it would at least work well w/ the existing aggregate that we have. Thats a very real-life situation, sometimes you don't have the budget to do everything at once, but finding guys who don't try to oversell you and will try their best to make something that looks great while fitting in nicely with what you have already, now thats a real professional.

The driveway looks amazing and literally is the exact vision I had going into this whole process. Jake added the necessary design on the edges so that it would flow into the look of my front yard, and I am very happy with their work. They came in under the anticipated time, the budget didn't change and my front yard just became a lot more useable and beautiful at the same time. Needless to say I would recommend Jake to anyone in my close personal network, and will definitely be contacting him for future projects!!

My wife and I have been working with Jake Brazil on 4-5 projects over the past 6 years. All of them have involved a combination of fancy stonework and brickwork on an English-style cottage, often requiring integration with other structural features like post-and-beam construction. Not only are the results always of extremely high quality (some of which have been featured in marketing materials), but all of the projects have been completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Jake is also very flexible and personable - a real delight to work with in every respect. We have have been very pleased with all aspects of his work and strongly recommend him without any reservations.

The work was done in a timely manner and the staff were helpful and punctual. Jake Brazil returned my calls promptly to answer any questions which gave me confidence that I had chosen the right person to do the job.

I would recommend Brazil Construction to anyone.
